Disclaimer

This page explains how to interpret the example sentences, conjugation tables, practice dialogues, and audio you'll see on French Bites. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

1. Example sentences & dialogues are for learning purposes only

Every example sentence, quiz sentence, and "Scenario" dialogue on French Bites is written or selected purely to illustrate a specific verb, tense, or conjugation pattern. Sentences may describe fictional people, places, situations, opinions, or events. They are teaching examples, not statements of fact, advice, or opinion — and they do not represent the views, opinions, or endorsements of French Bites or its team. Any resemblance to real people, businesses, or places (for example, a café, bakery, or fictional character used in a dialogue) is coincidental or used purely for illustrative context, not a claim about any real entity.

2. Not professional language certification or advice

French Bites is a self-study grammar and vocabulary tool. It is not a substitute for a qualified French teacher, tutor, or certified course, and it does not guarantee any particular learning outcome, fluency level, or exam result (including DELF, DALF, TCF, or similar certifications). Grammar explanations reflect standard, commonly taught French usage; French itself has regional variation and evolves over time, so always cross-check anything important (contracts, exams, official communication) against an authoritative source, a dictionary, or a native speaker.

3. AI-generated and synthesized audio

Some audio on French Bites (spoken example sentences and dialogues) is produced using text-to-speech and AI voice synthesis tools rather than recorded by a human native speaker for every single line. While we review audio for accuracy, automated speech can occasionally have imperfect pronunciation, intonation, or pacing. Treat audio as a helpful listening aid, not a definitive pronunciation reference — and let us know if you spot an issue at privacy@frenchbites.app.

4. Best-effort accuracy

We try hard to keep conjugation tables, grammar rules, and translations accurate and up to date. Despite that effort, errors, simplifications, or outdated entries may exist. Content is provided "as is," without warranty of accuracy or completeness, and you use it at your own discretion — see the "No warranty" and "Limitation of liability" sections of our Terms of Service.

5. Not intended for real-world reliance

Scenario dialogues (e.g. ordering at a café, buying bread) are teaching aids, not a guarantee that a phrase will work exactly as shown in every real conversation. Please don't rely solely on this app for situations with legal, medical, financial, or safety consequences (for example, official paperwork, medical appointments, or emergencies) — use a professional translator or interpreter for those.

6. If you're a minor, or supervising one

French Bites is intended for general audiences learning French, including students, and most of the app (Search, Quiz, Scenario) works without an account at any age. For accounts, we use 16 as a single, more protective age threshold worldwide: if you're 16 or older you register yourself; if you're younger, a parent or guardian registers and manages the account on your behalf with their own email — the same email/payment method a guardian would later use if we introduce paid features. See the "Eligibility & age" section of our Terms of Service and the "Children's privacy" section of our Privacy Policy for the full details.
